Have each student bring in a copy of a recent obituary. Discuss in class what information goes into an obituary (Age, Hometown, Accomplishments etc.).

Organize the students into groups. Each group is assigned a different "witch" to research from the annotated list included in your teacher materials. Each group is assigned to write an obituary for their "witch".

Condemned witches were denied a Christian burial, and they were buried in unmarked graves. So this activity can be expanded by having each group also design and illustrate a gravestone for their "witch" - the plaque outlines found elsewhere in this packet can also serve as outlines for gravestones.
